When going away whether for a short overnight break or a longer holiday, one of the most difficult decisions you'll face is what to do with your family pets.  Whilst catteries are a popular choice, from experience we know that it can be quite traumatic both for owner and pet.  The average cattery pen is only 6 foot by 3 foot and whilst this is perfectly adequate, we all know how fussy cats can be and may feel a bit put out at such a dramatic downsize!  Cats that are used to being "King or Queen of their castle" can also be stressed at sharing their surroundings with other moggies.

Leave your cats in the comfort, security and stability of their own home.  We will make as many visits to your home daily as you would like.  We will feed your pets their usual food (as left by you), make sure fresh water is available and clean up any "presents" in or around the litter tray.  More importantly, we will spend time giving your cat love and affection and playing with their favourite toys.

We at Catmate believe we can provide your cat with stability, companionship and the home comforts that it deserves and help to give you peace of mind throughout your break.

We will make an initial visit to meet you and your pets to learn their likes and dislikes and give you a chance to leave us any additional information.

Catmate specialise in caring for cats, we devote our time to this and do not walk dogs or care for other large animals.  This allows us more time to spend with your cats at your home. Of course whilst visiting your cats we are more than happy to care for your small pets; we have recently enjoyed bathing two chinchillas, feeding a pair of finches and talking to numerous goldfish!

We very much believe that every cat and every circumstance is individual and do not judge anyone's arrangements such as whether the cats are indoor or outdoor, lap cats or free spirits.  We have experience of many breeds including Bengals, British Short Hair and lots of gorgeous moggies.

Regular Catmate visits to your house can assist with home security.  We travel in an ordinary car that doesn't advertise our business (for security purposes).  We can switch lights on/off, remove mail and newspapers from your hallway and close the curtains at night.  We can also turn the hot water and heating on for when you arrive back from your break.  If you wish we can provide bread and milk for your return.

For your peace of mind,  Catmate is a small team of only 3 members, all have had extensive background checks.  We are fully insured through Cliverton Insurance (specialists in the pet sitting industry).  We are not members of the NARP organisation which some pet sitters use as we felt this was simply a "for profit" organisation which would even charge you the customer to access their database. We always bring our insurance documents and police checks to our preliminary visits for your inspection and peace of mind.
